Assistant Fire Chief Brian Gonzalez
Assistant Fire Chief Brian Gonzalez began his career with the St. Lucie County Fire District in 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University and an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services from Indian River State College. Throughout his career, Chief Gonzalez has served on numerous Fire District committees, including the Safety Committee, EMS Operations Committee, EMS Guidelines Committee, Medical Review Board, and Strategic Planning Committee. He is also a Certified District Manager (CDM) through the Florida Association of Special Districts.
As Assistant Fire Chief, Chief Gonzalez serves as the second-in-command of the Fire District and assists the Fire Chief with strategic planning, budget development, labor relations, and organizational leadership. He oversees the District’s day-to-day operations, serves as a senior member of the executive management team, and is responsible for all Fire District activities in the absence of the Fire Chief. Through his leadership, Chief Gonzalez helps ensure the effective delivery of fire rescue and emergency medical services while supporting the District’s long-term goals and operational priorities.
Chief Gonzalez and his wife, Andrea, are the proud parents of four children: Seth, Jonas, Helena, and Gabriel.
