Human Resources

The Human Resources Division supports the Fire District's most valuable resource—its people. The Division is responsible for employee onboarding, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, promotional processes, workforce development, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Through these services, the Division helps support, develop, and retain a highly qualified workforce dedicated to serving the community.

The Division also oversees workplace health and safety initiatives, workers' compensation, risk management, exposure control, and employee wellness programs. Human Resources works closely with employees and leadership to promote a professional work environment characterized by accountability, respect, fairness, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

In addition, the Division provides guidance and support on personnel matters, collective bargaining compliance, leave administration, retirement resources, and professional development initiatives. Through proactive planning, employee support services, and retention efforts, the Human Resources Division helps ensure the Fire District remains a safe, effective, and responsive organization.

The Division's risk management and employee wellness programs focus on reducing workplace injuries, supporting employee health, managing workers' compensation claims, promoting infection prevention practices, and providing resources related to firefighter cancer prevention, behavioral health, post-traumatic stress, and other occupational health concerns. These efforts help protect Fire District personnel while supporting the delivery of high-quality services to the community.
